Description
Sedum nussbaumerianum, also known as Sedum adolphii ‘Golden Sedum’, is a succulent plant native to Mexico, belonging to the Crassulaceae family. It is highly valued for its golden to orange foliage, forming beautiful cascades of dense, compact rosettes.
Here are some care tips:
Light
Sedum nussbaumerianum thrives in bright light to full sun. Place it in a location where it receives at least 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Morning sun is especially beneficial to enhance the golden tones of its leaves.
Watering
As a drought-tolerant succulent, Sedum ‘Angelina’ requires minimal watering. Water moderately about once every two weeks in summer, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. In winter, reduce watering to once a month when growth slows down.
Soil
Use a well-draining soil mix, such as a cactus or succulent blend. Make sure the pot has drainage holes to prevent root rot.
Temperature
This plant prefers warm to moderate temperatures. It can tolerate slightly cooler conditions but should be protected from frost. Keep it in an environment where the temperature stays above 5°C (41°F).
Fertilization
Feed your plant with a balanced, diluted fertilizer once in early spring to promote growth. Avoid fertilizing in autumn and winter when the plant is dormant.
Repotting
Repot every two to three years in spring if necessary, choosing a slightly larger pot to allow the roots to expand.
Propagation
This plant can be easily propagated from healthy stem or leaf cuttings. Let the cuttings dry slightly before planting them in well-draining soil to encourage rooting.
Entretien
Remove dead or damaged leaves regularly to encourage healthy, compact growth and to maintain an attractive appearance.
Precautions
Sedum nussbaumerianum is generally non-toxic to humans and pets, but it’s always best to keep plants out of their reach.
