This species is native to the arid and semi-arid regions of Central America, particularly Mexico and surrounding countries. It thrives in rocky and sandy environments, perfectly adapted to withstand drought conditions.

Light
This plant prefers bright, indirect light, but can tolerate full sun once properly acclimated. Full sunlight encourages healthy growth and enhances the vibrant coloration of its stems. However, introduce it gradually to strong sunlight to avoid leaf burn.
Watering
Gibasis geniculata prefers dry, well-drained soil. Water moderately during the growing season (spring and summer), allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. In winter, reduce watering to prevent excess moisture, as the plant enters a dormant phase.
Soil
